We have an archive of information relating to projects we worked on and we have a database which lists the drawings and other information that we have.
If you are thinking of commissioning an engineer to design alterations to one of our buildings, why not telephone us direct? For minor alterations we will normally be able to give you the quickest, cheapest and best service, because we can access the detailed information right away. If we were the original engineers, we can often be less pessimistic about a building, as we know what is there from our own records. Please ring one of the Directors.
The more recent the project, the more information we are likely to have. Much of the archive was destroyed in 1939-45, but we do have some details of some projects from before 1945. Very recent projects are not included.
Drawings are generally on microfilm (more recent projects) and/or half plate negatives (for older projects).
Calculations, specifications and correspondence may be available. We do not release these, although we may be able to consult these for you, to advise on design loads or methods, for example.
We also have copies of photos and articles published about the projects.
The lists below are to help you identify whether a particular project was one that we worked on and for which we may have information. Some projects are not listed for security reasons - please telephone to enquire about such projects. The lists included some projects that were never built and some that were quite small - we may have been making a minor alteration to a building originally designed by somebody else.

Please note that the database is not 100% accurate.
Once you have found the job number and our name for the project, please telephone us (020 7404 4041) and ask to speak to the archives department. We will check what drawings etc. we have on the project and send you a list so you can choose what you require. You will need to send us an original letter from the current building owner confirming permission that we can release details to you. We will then issue an invoice which must be paid before we will print the drawings. (Sorry - in the past we have spent large amounts of time recovering small amounts of money.)
There will be an archive search charge, plus the cost of any printing and if, in addition, you need one of our Engineers to examine the calculations or correspondence, a charge will be made per hour for the Engineer’s time.
