Alton
College
Hampshire
An imaginative and exciting but economically designed school, built for
Hampshire County Council.
Architect: Hampshire County Council Architects' Dept.
The metal deck roofs for the single storey classrooms and covered walkways
are forced down onto steel purlins to form the curved profiles.
The roof purlins are fabricated out of small circular tubes and tees
sections which are then strong enough to span 7.2 metres between the curved
"I" section main beams.
The eaves ties are rolled steel channels which also act as rainwater
gutters. |
