Department
of Chemistry,
Cambridge
Client: The University of Cambridge
Architect: Nicholas Ray Associates
This major refurbishment of the Department of Chemistry was split into
several phases to allow the Department to continue research and teaching
throughout the works.
The building was extended outwards and upwards using steel frames to
contain new plantrooms, ventilation ducts and fume cupboard flues.
Significant internal alterations facilitated the creation of a Technical
Services Unit.
